Jason Sturgeon (Simple Life, Rolling On, Thats Me) will be performing Saturday, June 23, at Champion Billiards and Sports Cafe on Buckeystown Pike in Frederick. Opening for him is Georgia Lea & Stone Cold Country.

I talked by phone with Jason last week where he was at home in his native Indiana -- a place where he says he goes to make memories and material for new songs. His new single, “Time Bomb” pays tribute toKing of the Outlaws racer Steve Kinser. It’s also the theme song for the 2012 Monster Truck Nationals Tour. "It's an opportunity that came up," Jason said of his collaboration with the tour.

 

“Growing up, I was always building cars, making things go fast and tearing things up in the process,” he said with a laugh.
